VisEra Invited to Business Today’s CHRO Forum: Sharing New ESG Solutions for Talent Retention

Building Talent Sustainability Through “Localization Attachment”

Richard Yu, Senior Director of the Human Resources Division at VisEra Technologies, was invited to speak at the Chief Human Resources Officer Forum hosted by Business Today, where he shared how the company leverages ESG resources to deepen the connection between employees and the local community, pioneering a new approach that proves “talent retention cannot rely on compensation alone.”

Richard Yu noted, “Talent retention cannot rely solely on compensation and benefits. A purely economic contract is easily shaken when competitors poach with higher salaries.” VisEra redefines talent retention as “dual identity”—while the enterprise provides a stage for career growth, the region offers emotional life and deep-rooted local connection. “When both elements coexist, the reason employees stay is no longer just salary and benefits, but the fact that this place has become intertwined with their lives.”

By partnering with National Tsing Hua University’s University Social Responsibility (USR) project, VisEra has organized local history and culture expeditions, inviting employees and their families to participate. To date, the initiative has held 36 sessions, attracting 645 participants with an impressive satisfaction rate of 95%. Richard Yu shared with a smile that conversations in the office pantry have shifted from wafer yields to weekend lifestyle moments like “taking the children hiking on the Machiatai Trail.” He added, “Hsinchu has finally transformed from a place of work into a home for living.”
