Enhance Cybersecurity Perimeter Defenses: Optimizing Wafer Fab Information Security Architecture to Strengthen Operational Resilience

To improve operational stability and information security resilience in critical areas, VisEra launched the "Wafer Fab Information Security Architecture Optimization" project. By proactively conducting a risk examination and upgrading the existing network security design, the Company enhances the stability and operational continuity of the manufacturing environment, concretely aligning with the core ESG principles of "risk management," "operational resilience," and "responsible governance."

Proactively Identifying Potential Risks and Overcoming the Limitations of Centralized Architectures

When conducting a risk examination of its existing network security architecture, VisEra discovered that the original equipment security control architecture was "centrally designed." Under this design, if a single device experienced an abnormality, it could simultaneously affect the connectivity and operation of multiple production devices, thus creating concerns about operational interruption and the spread of security risks.

Implementing a Decentralized Protection Design to Effectively Mitigate the Risk of Single-Point Failure

To address this potential risk, the Company officially launched the architecture optimization project, fully adjusting the original centralized network security design to a "decentralized protection architecture with automatic bypass capabilities." After optimization, when individual devices experience abnormalities, network traffic can automatically reroute, ensuring the normal operation of other production devices is not affected and effectively mitigating the risk of single-point failure.

Strengthening Cybersecurity Protection and Manufacturing Environment Stability to Achieve Three Major Operational Benefits

The implementation of this project brings the following three substantial benefits to the Company:

  1. Reduced operational risk: Effectively prevents large-scale production or service interruptions caused by single device abnormalities.

  2. Strengthened operational resilience: Ensures that critical manufacturing processes can continue to operate under special scenarios.

  3. Implementation of corporate governance: Proactively improves potential risk architectures to concretely demonstrate the high importance attached to information security and operational responsibility.
